COVID Cases and Continuation of RAT Program, More Air Purifiers Across the last week we have recorded and notified our community of 21 students with COVID-19 that attended school at some stage. This has been the busiest period for cases at the school and shows that COVID-19 is still very present in our local community and everyone’s vigilance is necessary. We thank all the parents that notified the school so promptly and continued to use Rapid Antigen Tests to support the confirmation of symptoms. Whenever a case is reported to the school, we always identify the class and post to the entire relevant student cohort using Compass. Each family has now been equipped with sufficient Rapid Antigen Tests to undertake twice weekly testing for the remainder of the school term. This program has been extended to support the first 4 weeks of Term 2. We again thank families for working very closely with the school on this matter to support the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our community. We also have received a further delivery of air purifiers to more support spaces within the school, including the intervention classroom, reception area and library. There are already air purifiers in every classroom. Our COVID safe plan continues to operate and includes ventilation, hand sanitiser, air purifiers, masks in Year 3-6, separate play spaces and toilets for student cohorts. Raffle Draw At our final assembly of the term we will draw the winners from our recent Easter raffle. A huge thank you to the Parents and Friends Association (PFA) for their organisation to all families for selling tickets in support of fundraising for the school. A total just over $2,700 was raised, which is a wonderful result for the school. There’s three major prizes and some bonus prize packs with some donations from local businesses. Thank you to the following organisations for their generosity: Bunnings Warehouse, Oak Park Aquatic Centre, St Derby Café, Coles Glenroy, GoClimb Coburg, Beautiology Oak Park, Cosmedic AU, Francis Winifred Café and Officeworks. The prize draw will take place at our final assembly with the support of our student leaders. Last Day of Term – Friday 8th April Term 1 has been a slightly longer term than previous years and we break for the term vacation on Friday 8th April at 2:00pm. It has been wonderful having our students back onsite this term. Whilst there has been some interruption due to COVID cases, staff and students have had a resilient attitude and positive beginning to the school year for 2022. Please enjoy your holiday break, we hope it affords the opportunity for some rest and recovery from a busy term, and the joy of seeing family and friends. Kind regards, Michael Gill Principal Physical Education

5/6 News
Preparations are underway for Term 2 learning! We are excited to launch a creative project next term around Sustainability and natural disasters. We are in need of lots and lots of magazines to create mosaic art work. We ask that you please send any and all old magazines, that you have in your home, into school with your child to use for our project over the coming weeks. Many thanks for your ongoing support, 5/6 Teaching Team Foundation News
On Tuesday the Grade 6s held a performance for their buddies. We all performed different animated movies to see if they could guess what movie we were doing. We had all been practising for weeks and the Foundation students loved it. Everyone participated and everyone dressed up, everybody was very excited and the cringe was unimaginable! Things were going wrong left and right and to make things worse we have a video of each act so we can never forget the moment. Both classes had a group of judges and an announcer which was Isla and myself. We all enjoyed it and the Foundation students liked it which is all that mattered. By Cagan 6D 1/2H
