Principal's Column
As term 2 draws to a close and we look back on the events of the past 11 weeks, it’s difficult to find words that make sense of all that actually happened. I am enormously grateful to our school community for the level of support they have shown for the school this year. I know this has been very much appreciated by our staff who understand that a very challenging situation could have been made even more difficult were it not for that support. Our teachers have done an amazing job during term 2. They have adapted to circumstances never experienced before and have done that with professionalism and a high degree of creativity. Even though learning conditions have been very different, and many of the things that underpin our teaching philosophy have been missing, or decreased (collaboration, kids learning from each other) we have seen many of our students do very well during this time. Some enjoyed working with less, or different kinds of distraction, and many learned a lot about their own resilience, adaptability and independence. We have seen some students return to school and pick up right where they left off in term 1. Others have experienced a period of readjustment, particularly when playing outside. I said to a colleague recently, that there is a thesis in this somewhere. Teachers learned a lot about their students and about themselves. They found new ways of communicating and presenting which they will continue to use in to the future. We have held online meetings with the whole staff and different teams which were effective but often left you with a feeling that something was missing. Our school council meetings were also online during term 2. These meetings became much shorter, perhaps more focussed, but I think we all noticed that missing element of social interaction where a lot of good discussion also takes place. All that we have achieved together has been while operating in a climate of uncertainty, apprehension and worry. And that continues to some extent with the recent announcements from the premier. Let’s continue to work together, to be kind to each other and to be grateful for all the good things and all the good people in our lives. End of Term 2
A reminder that Friday 26th June is the last day of term 2. School will finish at 1.45pm for students in grades 3-6 and 2.00pm for students in Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2. For the first two weeks of term 3, we will continue with the current arrangements regarding staggered start and finish times. School Photos

This week in the Grade 5/6 area, we have been celebrating the completion of the co-hort novel, The Big Wish. We decorated the 5/6 common area with wishes for ourselves and for someone special, we baked hob nobs (traditional English biscuits that feature throughout the story) and we created The Big Wish-The Movie, performing our favourite parts from the chapters. It has been an enjoyable and creative week Casual Clothes Day
