Congratulations to our Foundation Students
A massive congratulations to our Foundation students who began their official school journey last Monday. It has been wonderful to see these young learners exploring their new classrooms, making friends, and displaying resilience as they settle in. We also extend a warm thank you to the Parents and Friends Association and Sally for hosting the Tea and Tears event. It was a lovely way to support our new families during such a significant milestone. Community Support: Hats and Uniforms Thank you to our parents and carers for your support in ensuring a high standard of uniform consistency this week. We have noticed a fantastic effort with our SunSmart hats which are essential for outdoor play during these warmer months. Term 1 Newsletters Term 1 Newsletters have all been sent home via Compass. A great two-page format to summarise the upcoming curriculum, Term 1 dates and contact details for teachers. Thank you to team leaders for being so concise and timely with their newsletters. Kind regards, Michael Gill Principal WHAT'S HAPPENING @ OAK PARK

No Hat/ No Play
Oak Park Primary School is a Sun Smart school, therefore all students are required to wear a hat at recess, lunchtime and at all times when outside. Students who do not bring a hat to school must sit in the shade. Bucket hats are the correct type of hat for students to wear as these cover the face, neck and ears. Bucket hats are for sale from the Office for $10 each. CSEF Application
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) - 2026 The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) helps eligible families cover the cost of school camps, sports activities, excursions and incursions, so that financial circumstances are not a barrier to student participation. What is CSEF? CSEF is provided by the Victorian Department of Education to support eligible families at both government and non-government schools. Payments are made directly to schools, not to families. New payment amounts Payment amounts for eligible families have increased this year:

Need more information? For any further information or assistance, families can contact the school administration team, who will be happy to help. To complete form, please click here. Confidential Student Information Details
Dear Parents and Carers, This notice is to ensure the school has the most up-to-date information for your child. Please notify the school of any changes to your child’s medical conditions, home address, phone numbers, occupation/work arrangements, or emergency contact details. If there have been any changes, please complete and return the attached Confidential Student Information Form to the administration office either:
If there are no changes to your child’s details, this form does not need to be completed or returned. It is important that the school is informed as soon as possible should any details change throughout the year, to ensure we can support your child’s health, safety and wellbeing. To complete form, please click here. Late Arrival/Early Departure
LATE ARRIVALS: Students who arrive late to school (after 9am) must be bought into school by their parents/guardians and signed in at the Compass kiosk near the Office. Not only it is unsafe to drop your child off by themselves once all students are in class, it is a requirement that students are to be signed in on their arrival to school once the roll has already been marked by the teacher. EARLY DEPARTURE: If you are collecting your child from school early, parents/guardians must come in and sign their child out at the Compass kiosk at the office PRIOR to attending class to pick up their child. Please do not attend the class without first signing them out and collecting a slip to hand to the teacher. Please do not call the office or the teacher and ask them to have your child waiting at the office to be picked up early. We appreciate your attention to this Visitors to the School
ALL visitors to the school MUST enter via the front office and sign in via the Compass Kiosk. This is not required when dropping your children off prior to 9am or picking them up after school at 3.30pm. We are finding that we have family members/friends entering the school via the back gates just to drop in and talk to their child during school times and lunch/recess. Please do not do this unless you have entered via the front office and spoken to the staff. Thank you for your consideration. Working with Children Check
All visitors and helpers to the school are required to have a current working with children check, and a copy must be given to the front office. If you have recently updated your card, please ensure a copy is forwarded to the office either via email, or shown at the office. If your card has expired, you are unable to be a volunteer/helper within the school until you have re-applied. All visitors signing in, must input their Working with Children Check number on the Compass kiosk. Classroom Volunteer Course
Dear Families, Parents and carers wishing to volunteer in classrooms this year are invited to attend the Classroom Volunteer Course in Term 1, Week 3. Only attendance at one session is required. Session options:
If you have previously completed a Classroom Volunteer Course (Parent Helper Course), you do not need to attend again. Please note: The course must be completed to volunteer in classrooms. Volunteers must also hold a valid Working with Children Check. No further courses will be offered this semester. If you plan to attend, please complete the Google Form to register. Thank you for your support. Kind regards, Amy Devlin Book Club
Welcome back to Book Club! Catalogues for Issue 1 have been handed out to students. The last day for orders is Tuesday 10th February, no late orders can be accepted. The best gift any parent can give a child is the love of books and the joy and benefits of independent reading for fun. Children who read at home, or are read to, have a head start on reading success in school. Our school is participating in Scholastic Book Club this year. Up to twice a term, during the school year, I will send home a Club catalogue with a different selection of books offered for all ages. You’ll find award-winning books and bestsellers, as well as old and new favourites. The books span a wide range of children’s reading levels and interests, and they are inexpensive (some books cost as little as $3). It is easy to order. The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows you to pay by credit card. Your child’s order is submitted directly to school safe and sound and the books will be delivered to class. You can place your child’s order at scholastic.com.au/LOOP or using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Although online orders are preferred, cash orders will be accepted if you do not wish to order online. Orders must be placed in an envelope with the order form and the correct money. This needs to be returned to the teacher not the office. Owning your own books is something special! I hope that you will encourage your child to order books this year. Each order helps earn free books and teaching materials for our classroom, however there is never any obligation to order. I know of no better way to encourage reading than to allow children to choose the books they want to read. If you need further information, please contact me via email or see me in the library. EARLY YEARS NEWS
Foundation
We would like to congratulate the Foundation students on their wonderful first week of school. They survived the heat, embraced new routines and made many new friends. A highlight of the week was meeting with their Grade 6 Buddies for lunch eating times, and enjoying their first taste of Art, Science, Performing Arts and Sport. It was lovely to see their smiling faces each morning and hear they are still eager to come back next week! Grade 2
We hope you’ve all enjoyed a delightful first week back and are excited for the wonderful year that lies ahead. Students have settled into their new classrooms exceptionally well, and we are eager for a year filled with both learning and fun. Our Home Reading program will commence on Monday, February 16th. A reminder that all students are required to wear a hat outside every day during Term 1. Please ensure that your child brings their hat to school, and that it is labelled with their name. SPECIALIST
