Thank You for a Wonderful Family Carols Picnic!
What a fantastic evening we had at this year’s Family Carols Picnic! It was wonderful to see so many families come together to celebrate the festive season with us. The beautiful singing from our students filled the air with holiday cheer. The event wouldn’t have been complete without the delicious sausage sizzle and food trucks - which kept everyone fuelled and refreshed. A huge thank you goes to our incredible teachers and education support staff for their support in making the evening such a success. Special thanks to Melanie for her outstanding organisation and tireless efforts in coordinating another memorable event. We’d also like to express our gratitude to Santa for making an appearance on the roof - it’s always a highlight for the children! Thank you once again to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this wonderful community celebration. Welcoming New Teachers to Oak Park
Oak Park Primary School is excited to welcome four passionate educators in 2026: Bianca Cerra, Claudia Viota, Ellen Haveckin, and Siarah Ul-Haq. Below are their classroom introductions, that provide a nice personal insight into their experience and interests. We look forward to their contributions and for them to meet their new classes in the final week of school. Kind regards,

Working with Children Check
We have quite a few families whose Working with Children Check card is now expired. All visitors and helpers to the school are required to have a current working with children check, and a copy must be given to the front office. If you have recently updated your card, please ensure a copy is forwarded to the office either via email, or shown at the office. If your card has expired, you are unable to be a volunteer/helper within the school until you have re-applied. All visitors signing in, must input their Working with Children Check number on the Compass kiosk. Visitors to the School
ALL visitors to the school MUST enter via the front office and sign in via the Compass Kiosk. This is not required when dropping your children off prior to 9am or picking them up after school at 3.30pm. We are finding that we have family members/friends entering the school via the back gates just to drop in and talk to their child during school times and lunch/recess. Please do not do this unless you have entered via the front office and spoken to the staff. Thank you for your consideration. Library Books
When returning library books to your local community library, please ensure there are no Oak Park Primary School Library books included. We are getting quite a few school library books returned to local libraries instead. Thank you. Chess Interschool Tournament

Grade 1 Fun Night & Grade 2 Sleepover
Our Grade 1 and 2 students enjoyed an unforgettable evening together at our recent Fun Night and Sleepover. The night kicked off with a high energy silent disco, where students danced, laughed and showcased their best moves. This was followed by a delicious pizza dinner with lots and lots of Pizza! Just when the students thought the night couldn’t get any better, a surprise arrived! The familiar sound of an ice cream truck echoed through Oak Park! Each student was treated to their own choice of toppings, making it a sweet highlight of the night. After the Grade 1s headed home, the Grade 2 adventure continued with an exciting school sleepover. Students enjoyed plenty of snacks, a chocolate hunt, a cosy movie session and, of course, a much-loved late bedtime! In the morning, they woke to a warm breakfast and packed up after a fun and memorable night. A huge thank you to the staff and helpers who made this special event possible for our students.
