Enjoy a great holiday break! As we wrap up very busy 11 week term, we wish you all a wonderful holiday break filled with relaxation and joy! Take this time to recharge, spend quality moments with loved ones, and enjoy the break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 3. School will resume on Monday, 21st July, 2025. Thank You to Our Amazing Working Bee Volunteers! A huge thank you to all the incredible participants who joined us for last week’s working bee at Oak Park Primary School! Your hard work and dedication made a tremendous difference. Special thanks to Hugh Brideson, Megan Wilson, Adam Loriggio, Stephanie Hurst, Matt Hurst, Roslyn Fitzpatrick, Lola Parkes-Sophiadakis, Angus Denham, Maddy Denham, Francessca O’Donnell, Tom Delaney, Mark Griffin, Sumit Chaudhary, Brock Morris, Brendan Aked, Ryan Smith, Sally Morath and Vaibhav Nagtode for your time and effort. Extra special thanks to Chris Burke for leading the arrangements for the day. Apologies if I’ve missed any volunteer. Together, you helped complete some helpful projects. We’ve got some ideas for another Working Bee in Term 3, we hope to see you all again. Curriculum Day – Friday 4th July – Berry St Day 2 Our staff have made a strong start to their Berry St Education Model (BSEM) training, with a highly successful first curriculum day on April 24th, followed by an engaging Day 2 today, this Friday —a curriculum day dedicated to deepening these skills. This is the second of four scheduled sessions in 2025, with August 14th and 15th still to come. BSEM focuses on creating a trauma-informed classroom through five key areas: body, relationship, stamina, engagement, and character, equipping teachers with practical strategies like morning check-ins and brain breaks to support students in regulating emotions, building resilience, and staying engaged—especially those facing challenges. Our staff have embraced the training with enthusiasm, with today’s session building on initial learnings and further unpacking the importance of relationships between educators and learners. We’re excited to see how BSEM will continue to shape our classroom and wellbeing routines as the year progresses, and we’ll keep you updated on the positive impact. New Uniform Provider – We welcome Lowes School Wear! Our previous uniform provider APlus Schoolwear has transitioned away from sales and purely into manufacturing clothing. After an expression of interest process via School Council, Lowes School Wear was deemed the successful candidate as our new uniform provider. Lowes is the largest provider of school uniforms in the state, and has a store conveniently located at Airport West Westfield Shopping centre with trading hours seven days per week. Lowes will also maintain current pricing for 12 months and also has 5 sales every year with a discount of 20% in-store. They also have reward programs further discounts during normal sale periods (further information attached). Attached is a flyer with trading hours and key dates around this transition. If you have your own sewing machine, and love a good straight stitch, please contact Sheryl Hamilton, [email protected] to offer your services. We will need at least six volunteers to bring our vision to life! Please contact Sheryl by the first week of Term 3. We can’t wait to hear from you, start your engines…. Athletics Carnival

EARLY YEARS NEWS
Foundation News
Good afternoon Foundation families, My knees are aching, my memory is fading, and don’t talk to me about the wrinkles… but what do you expect when you’ve been at school for 100 days! We are nearly 100 days of school old and to celebrate this wonderful milestone, we’ll be having a 100 days of school party on Wednesday 6th August (Week 3 of term 3). We love a dress up so we expect to see a sea of grey hair, bow ties and braces, pearls and rollers and perhaps even some knee high stockings. We’d love the Foundation kids to dress up too! The day will be filled with fun activities (but nothing too strenuous to throw out a hip…) including an afternoon snack of hot chips. We require a payment of $2 per student to cover the cost of the chips, a permission slip will follow shortly requesting consent and payment. Save the date, put it in your calendar, don’t forget (I know the memory can start to fade by 100) and start working out your costume now. Please see your classroom teacher if you have any questions. Kindest regards Kate, Jasmyn and Sarah Grade 1 & 2 Maths
This term, our Grade 1 and 2 students have been diving into flexible Maths groups, with a focus on addition, subtraction and place value. Flexible grouping means students work in targeted groups that change regularly based on their learning needs or next steps. Using assessment data, teachers carefully plan groupings to ensure every student is supported and challenged at just the right level. It’s been a fantastic way for students to build confidence, work with different classmates and grow their mathematical thinking. Grade 3/4 and 5/6 students will begin flexible Maths groups next term. Please take a look at some of our students hard at work! Grade 2 News
GLENROY LIBRARY EXCURSION: In Literacy Term 3, the Grade 2 students will be exploring different non-fiction texts and identifying the different features. This will support students' learning as they will be creating their own information texts later in the term. To get students immersed into reading different non-fiction texts, we have organised for the Grade 2s to participate in a local excursion to the Glenroy Library on Thursday 31st of July 2025 (Term 3, Week 2). Students will be required to arrive at school at the normal time of 8:50am. After lunch (12:10pm), we will walk down to the Glenroy Library and the students will get to discover some of the exciting features that are offered there. We will return to school at around 2:30pm. As this is a local excursion, no payment or consent is required. We are looking for a parent helper per class to accompany us on this excursion. If you are interested and have completed the parent helper course, please email your child’s classroom teacher. Who is going to get in first? Kind regards, The Grade 2 Team (Jordan, Demi, Lauren & Alex) SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Calling All 1.125L and 2L Plastic Bottles – Art Show Preparation for Grade 1 and 2 Students As part of our exciting Great Southern Land – Beach to Bush Art Show in Term 3, all Grade 1 and 2 students will be creating a special artwork that requires a 1.125L or 2L plastic bottle (such as soft drink bottles). We kindly ask that each child in Grade 1 or 2 brings one clean, empty bottle to school and gives it directly to David, the Art Teacher, no later than Friday 4th August (The bottles can be dropped off at the art room any time or your child may bring it to their weekly art class). If you happen to have any extra bottles at home, we would greatly appreciate donations to help support families who do not purchase plastic bottles. Thank you for supporting our creative preparations – we can’t wait to share these artworks with you in Term 4 at our big event! Art Show - SAVE THE DATE
