Principal's Column
Upcoming Professional Practice Day – Monday November 3rd. As part of our ongoing commitment to quality teaching and learning, our staff will participate in upcoming Professional Practice Days to support assessment and report writing. This is part of the current industrial agreement for teachers. While we have already used our five allocated student-free days this year to complete Berry Street Training, these days will allow teaching teams dedicated time to prepare for Semester 2 reports. The school will remain open on Monday, 3rd November. Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 will be engaged in report preparation on this day. Replacement teachers will be on-site, and an alternative learning program will operate for the Senior school. Time with family is important, we understand that many families take advantage of the long weekend around Cup Day and attendance is lower on these days. Kind regards, Michael Gill Principal WHAT'S HAPPENING @ OAK PARK

Assembly Timetable (UPDATED)
Assembly
There will be no Assembly today. The next Assembly is Week 5, Friday 7th November. Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is on November 11th, and commemorates all Australians who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The date marks the 1918 Armistice that ended fighting in World War 1, and the day is observed with a 1 minute silence at 11am, to remember and reflect on these sacrifices. On behalf of Glenroy RSL, we will be selling poppy symbols before and after school. Please look out for the Grade 6 students who will be selling poppies, wristbands and badges depicting Rosemary as well as diggers hats. Foundation Transition 2026

Foundation Breakfast
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Who doesn’t love pancakes dripping in maple syrup? Slurping down an ice cold OJ or apple juice? Lounging around all day in your pjs? Sounds perfect! Well, that’s what we have planned for our Foundation Breakfast on Wednesday 12th November for only $2 per child. The students are so excited and of course, we NEED wonderful parent helpers to ensure the pancakes are flipped, maple syrup is flowing and fruit is sliced and diced! If you have a valid Working with Children’s Check and are available from 7:40am (sleep ins are overrated…) then please contact your child’s teacher – but hurry, places are limited! Please see attached invitation for further details. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Kate, Jasmyn and Sarah SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS
