SRC Playground Problem Solvers - Coming Soon!
We are excited to announce a new SRC initiative the Playground Problem Solvers (PPS), officially commencing in a fortnight’s time.
Our SRC leaders have been working hard to prepare for this role, which is all about fostering a positive, inclusive, and friendly environment during our break times. When you see a student in a Hi-Vis vest on the playground, you’re looking at one of our dedicated PPS leaders. What is a Playground Problem Solver? The goal of the PPS is to be a supportive peer who helps solve small issues before they grow. They are trained to help with:
While our PPS leaders are there to help with social connection and minor play issues, they know that student safety is the top priority. For any injuries, illnesses, or serious disagreements, our leaders are trained to immediately refer the situation to the nearest Yard Duty Teacher. We are very proud of the leadership, empathy, and responsibility our SRC students are showing. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our school yard starting the week after next! Building and Grounds Sub-Committee: 2026 Working Bees Join us for our upcoming working bees as we continue to spruce up our outdoor areas. Please save the following dates for 2026:
A sausage sizzle will be provided for all volunteers. Students are more than welcome to attend and help out, but they must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. To help us plan for catering and projects, please contact Chris at [email protected] to confirm your attendance and let us know which project best suits your skills. Thanks to the Avian Assistants! Our school’s feathered residents have been in very good hands recently, and we want to extend a massive thank you to the wonderful volunteers who helped out over the holidays. A special shout-out goes to Alex and Archer for their fantastic support during the recent break. We also want to send a big thank you to the Connors family for their generous support during the previous holiday period. We are pleased to report that our 5-strong flock is doing exceptionally well. They are quickly gaining confidence in their space and have become a much-loved part of our school environment. Thank you for helping our chickens thrive! Kind regards, Michael Gill Principal WHAT'S HAPPENING @ OAK PARK

Performing Arts
Oak Park Primary School is so excited to share that our concert production this year is Shrek Jr.! At our last assembly for the term, all Oak Park Primary staff came together, dressed up and put on a show for all students and the community to reveal the concert theme for 2026! It is such a great tradition here at Oak Park Primary that the staff show the students that having a go and having fun is all part of the experience.
Rehearsals will begin for all grades next term. We have plenty of time to learn songs and dance sequences so all students feel confident performing in September. Please put the concert dates in your diaries. It is the highlight of the school calendar and all students are required to perform on both nights! Grade 5/6 Main Character Auditions All Grade 5/6 students would have received an audition pack that included scripts, songs and the assessment rubric that will be used for auditions. All information was also posted on every student Seesaw accounts on their iPads. Students are encouraged to learn the script and songs over the holidays. Sign-ups for main characters will take place in Term 2, Week 2 (after camp), and auditions will be held in Week 3. Good luck to all students auditioning! I’m sure there will be plenty of happy families watching Shrek over the holidays and hearing ‘I’m a Believer’ blasting from car speakers. We are all so excited to begin rehearsals in Term 2!
