Thank You and Holiday Wishes
As we wrap up 2025, thank you all for your incredible support. Oak Park is special thanks to dedicated teachers, committed learners and caring families. We had a huge year, I’ve unpacked our success in last week’s newsletter to acknowledge events, learning and wellbeing highlights. Wishing you a safe, happy, restful Christmas break. Reminder: The first two days (January 27th and 28th)are Curriculum days to prepare for the school year and Team Kids is available to support families. All Year 1-6 return Thursday, January 29th. Foundation students start February 2nd - some have intake assessments prior. Thank you for being part of another successful year at Oak Park. We are all excited for 2026! Your support helps keep our school community beautiful! We look forward to seeing you there – all skillsets appreciated. Please contact Chris Burke at [email protected] to confirm your attendance or interest for the first date. Thank You to Our Student Leaders of 2025
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Student Leaders of 2025. They have achieved so much for our school and demonstrated outstanding leadership growth, from their very first Student Leader photo in February to receiving their leadership certificates at our final assembly this week. You have been a wonderful cohort of student leaders, and it has been a pleasure to watch you confidently navigate your roles and accomplish your goals throughout the year. Finally, I would like to acknowledge our exceptional School Captains, Mac and April, who consistently displayed our school values of respect, responsibility and resilience. Their leadership and positive influence across our school community have been truly commendable.
Thank you all for your hard work throughout the year and for the positive impact you have had on the students of Oak Park Primary School. We wish you every success and all the very best for 2026 and beyond. Kind regards,
Michael Gill Principal WHAT'S HAPPENING @ OAK PARK

Parents and Friends
Our PFA have booked the first meeting of the 2026 year at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd Feb in the staff room. This will be our AGM to determine the new PFA Committee. We would love new people to join, so please feel free to come along. We look forward to meeting new families. Head Lice
We have been advised of a case of head lice within the Foundation area. We would ask all families to please check your childs hair thoroughly. If you see eggs (white) or live lice (brown) in your childs hair you will need to treat them. If your child has long hair, it is important they you tie their hair back to limit the spread. Book Club
The final Book Club for the year has been finalised for the year and not surprising it has been an overwhelming success. This year the school has been able to purchase books to the value of $2000 for the school library. This is an amazing result and enables the school to maintain and update the collection with books for the enjoyment of all students. I look forward to bringing Book Club to the school community in 2026. I wish you all a safe and relaxing break. Happy reading everyone! Michelle
Nothing beats the feeling of saving lives together!
Over the Christmas period, the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood team is in great need of extra donations. We encourage our school community to consider joining the Oak Park Primary School Blood Drive over the school holidays and give the gift of blood to those who will need it most during the festive season. Your generous donation can make a life-saving difference. Thank you for supporting this important cause. We’ve just started the Oak Park Primary School Lifeblood Team! We’ve found a way to be part of something bigger with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood’s group donation program (and we’re really proud of it). Together, we can make a real difference. Whether you’ve been giving blood for decades or you’ve just started thinking about it, it’s the perfect time to join our Lifeblood Team. You can donate together or on your own — it all counts towards our team’s goals. Every drop counts. We have decided to do our own blood drive between November 2025 – February 2026. Can we count you in? We have made the conservative goal of getting at least 25 people (including staff, families or friends that have a connection with OPPS) to donate within this period. Of course, we’d love to double that number! Get involved at lifeblood.com.au or contact our Lifeblood Champion, Sally Morath on [email protected] for more information. As a current blood donor, you are welcome to ask Sally about the process and what to expect when you donate. TeamKids
