We want to extend our thanks to the parents who gave their time and energy to support our recent working bee in the Sustainability Orchard and spreading tan bark in our playgrounds to help maintain safety. A big thank you to Andrew Ward for this chainsaw skills as well as Megan Wilson, Deepthi Varma, Brendan Aked, and Susan Greenshields. Foundation Breakfast
Grade 1/2 Sleepover
Help needed for the 1/2 Sleepover breakfast! Remember when your child had such a great time at their 1/2 Sleepover? Please help us make it just as special for this year’s students! There might even be a pancake in it for you! We’re looking for a few extra helpers for the Sleepover breakfast on Saturday 29th of November from 6:00–8:00am. At the moment, we only have one volunteer, so we’re really hoping a few more parents or carers from any year level can lend a hand. We are aiming for 10 volunteers to make the morning run smoothly. Volunteers will need to have their Working with Children Check. If you’re able to help with serving breakfast, pouring drinks, or general supervision, we’d be very grateful. Please email [email protected] if you can help. Thank you Grade 1/2 Swimming Program at Windy Hill
This week our Year 1/2 students took part in the annual swimming program at Windy Hill, and what a fantastic week it was! Each day, the children arrived full of excitement, ready to jump in and build their confidence in the water. Throughout the program, students learned a range of important swimming and water safety skills — from floating and kicking to practising safe entries and learning how to stay calm in the pool. The instructors were wonderful at encouraging each child to challenge themselves and celebrate their progress. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and proud moments as students gained new skills and independence in the water. It was wonderful to see the teamwork, perseverance, and positive attitude from everyone involved. A big thank you to the staff and parent helpers who supported the program, and to the team at Windy Hill for providing such a welcoming and fun environment. The week was a huge success — and we’re so proud of our 1/2 students for giving it their all! MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Grade 3/4 Camp
Waratah Bay Beach Adventure Camp From the 8th to the 10th of October, the Year 3/4 students enjoyed a memorable camp at Waratah Bay. Over three days, they took part in a range of activities that encouraged teamwork, friendship and resilience. Students were placed in mixed groups to work together on different initiatives and challenges, developing cooperation and problem-solving skills. Their bravery was especially tested on the Flying Fish (giant swing), where many faced their fears with courage and determination. Highlights of the camp included the night beach walk where students spotted soldier crabs, toasting marshmallows by the campfire, beach walks and games, delicious food, and of course, the flying pancakes on the final morning. A big thank you to the teachers Leah, Amy, Jane, Nicola, Leigh and Alyena, and to our parent helpers David, Michael, Justin and Kylie for their time and support. The Year 3/4 students returned home proud of their achievements and grateful for the new memories and friendships made. SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

This week, 5/6s took part in a hands-on coding incursion to begin our Term 4 inquiry into Digital Technologies. We explored how digital systems store, process, and communicate data through decoding activities and fun problem-solving challenges. Students designed and tested their own algorithms using flowcharts and binary code to gain a deeper understanding of how computers think. The highlight was programming Sphero robots to navigate ramps and obstacles, which we soon discovered was far more difficult (and funny) than predicted! Year 6-7 Transition

Physical Education
A huge congratulations to our amazing students who competed at the Northern Metro Regional Athletics in Epping yesterday! It was a fantastic day filled with effort, determination, and plenty of school spirit. Our students achieved some outstanding results:
These incredible performances mean we’ll have several students heading to the State Championships on November 6th. We can’t wait to cheer them on as they take on the best in Victoria! 🌟👏 Performing Arts
Grade 1/2- Indigenous Dance Our Grade 1/2 students have been enjoying an exciting unit in Performing Arts, exploring Indigenous dance and the way movement is used to tell stories about the land, animals and culture. Through these lessons, students have been learning to move like a range of native Australian animals, including the kangaroo, echidna, carpet snake and goanna. They have loved discovering how each animal moves and what makes them unique- such as how a kangaroo can move each ear independently to listen for sounds in different directions! Students are beginning to understand that dance is an important part of Indigenous culture, used not only for celebration but also for storytelling and passing on knowledge. Well done Grade 1/2 students! COMMUNITY NEWS
