Art Show
SAVE THE DATE: We are thrilled to announce that Oak Park Primary School’s 2025 Art Show will be held in Term 4 on Thursday 23rd October! This year’s theme, “Great Southern Land – Beach to Bush”, celebrates all things Aussie and will showcase a stunning collection of student artworks inspired by our beautiful country. The Art Show is not just a celebration of creativity – it’s also a fundraising event to support our school. Families will need to purchase tickets to attend (more info to be announced around ticketing/entry), and every student will have one special artwork framed as a keepsake to commemorate the event. On the night, there will be plenty to enjoy including a sausage sizzle, refreshments, and a variety of raffles and silent auctions. We’re very excited to announce that some of the amazing items up for auction include:
Students have already begun working on their incredible artworks and are buzzing with excitement to share them with you at the Art Show. They are looking forward to seeing the reactions from parents and other family members, when they see their awesome artworks on display in the school gymnasium. If you or your business would like to donate items towards the raffle or silent auction, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact David Flint (Visual Arts Teacher) at [email protected] More information will about the Art Show will be available in coming weeks and will be made available via newsletters and Compass. Japanese
In Japanese, Grade 5/6 students have been learning how to describe the weather. Students have been practicing how to say various weather words through a range of games and activities. The students have loved working with their peers to practice asking, ‘How’s the weather?’ and responding with different weather types. They are also learning how to recognise each of these words in hiragana and kanji. It has been lots of fun watching each students confidence grow as they practice and learn together. Zoe has also made sure she has been included in all group activities! COMMUNITY NEWS
