Book Week Parade
On Week 5 Friday August 22nd 9:10-10:00am please join us at our school gymnasium for our 2025 Book Week Parade! This year the theme of The Children's Book Council of Australia is 'Book An Adventure'. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character that goes on an adventure. It is great if students can bring their book along that matches their costume inspiration. We look forward to this much anticipated annual school event! https://cbca.org.au/childrens-book-week/ The Great Book Swap
On the Tuesday 19th August 2025, Oak Park Primary School will be participating in The Great Book Swap! This event supports fundraising efforts for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, a charity that provides culturally relevant reading materials to students in rural and remote communities around Australia. This will be a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with new reading materials, whilst contributing to a worthwhile fundraising event. Over the next 3 weeks, we ask students to bring in books from home, that they are happy to donate to the cause. Students can give any book donations in the drop off boxes next to the office. We will then conduct our Great Book Swap during lunchtime on Tuesday 19th of August 2025. Students are asked to bring in some money on the day and each book will be sold for $1 each. Book donations will be accepted at the office until Wednesday 13th August. Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts to promote reading in our school and contribute to the important work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation!
PJ Day
Thank You for Supporting Wear Your PJs to School Day! A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for getting behind Wear Your PJs to School Day! Together, we raised over $480, with every dollar going directly to support The Smily Family charity. Your generosity will help make a difference for families in need, and your enthusiasm made the day extra special. It was heartwarming to see our school filled with colourful PJs, big smiles, and a shared spirit of kindness. Thank you for helping us turn a fun day into a meaningful contribution! From the 5/6 Fundraising Team Daffodil Day
Daffodil Day is an annual fundraising campaign by the Cancer Council in Australia to raise money for cancer research and support services. The daffodil is a symbol of hope and resilience for those affected by cancer. Many in our community have been affected by cancer, and we encourage all to donate and show support. One of our community/family members has recently undergone treatment for this insidious disease and will be fundraising to support advancements in life-saving cancer research. Across the month of August, she will be walking 106 kilometres for the on average 106 Victorians who are diagnosed with Cancer every day! Please help her in her wonderful fundraising efforts by donating and providing hope for a cancer-free future and for all those impacted by cancer. Alternatively, join in for a walk! Huge CONGRATULATIONS to one of our ex-students, Keira Branagan (the family are still one of our Oak Park Primary School families). As a member of Keilor Football Club in the EDFL, and a BIG V superstar, Keira was a part of the undefeated Victorian Team at the Under 12 Girls School Sport Australia Carnival. What a great effort, well done Keira! School Contacts
