Foundation: Pevan & Sarah
You thought the roar of the crowd on grand final day at the MCG was loud. Well, that was nothing compared to the screaming Foundation fans at the Pevan and Sarah concert on Wednesday. Initially there was a lot of restlessness with ‘When does the show start?’, but when the lights dimmed, the crowd went wild, and eyes were glued to the stage. Audience participation was at an all-time high with crowd favourites ‘I like it loud’, ‘Months of the Year’ and of course my all-time favourite ‘Sentences.’ Consensus was Sarah looked pretty in her orange dress and Pevan was funny when he read the word ‘bum’ instead of ‘mud,’ but hey, we all learn from our mistakes! Pevan and Sarah, you didn’t disappoint, it was a great concert we will always remember! Grade 1&2: Annie the Musical
On Wednesday 17th of September 2025, the Grade 1/2 students had a thrilling adventure as they travelled to the Princess Theatre to watch the theatre production of “Annie the Musical.” Students were literally at the edge of their seats as they got the opportunity to transport into the world of this classic story. There were so many memorable highlights for students as they were treated to a performance of jaw-dropping musical numbers, captivating set productions and even a cute appearance from Annie’s dog Sandy. Here are some reviews from the 1/2 students about their favourite moments from Annie the Musical… Ruby Q 2HM - I loved when Ms Hannigan, her brother and his girlfriend dressed up and pretended to be Annie’s parents. River A 2HM - It was so cool when Rooster jumped up in the air and did a side flip! Vriddhi N 2HM - My favourite part was when Annie met Mr Warbucks for the first time Harry T 2HM - My favourite part was when Mr Warbucks bought the Mona Lisa. How could he buy that?! Ben W 2J - My favourite moment of Annie was when they sang “It’s a hard knock life for us!” Celine M 2J - My favourite moment of Annie was when Annie had Christmas with Mr Warbucks! Asel D 2J - My favourite moment of Annie was when Sandy and Annie met. Also I liked the “tomorrow” song! Aydin E 2J - I really enjoyed when Sandy the dog came out a big box at the end! A massive thank you to all the parent helpers and staff for making this excursion a success. MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Science
Science Update – Chemistry Fun with Atoms and Molecules! This term in Science, our senior students have been diving into the fascinating world of Chemistry, learning all about atoms and molecules — the tiny building blocks that make up everything around us! To help make these invisible particles come to life, students used marshmallows and lollies to build colourful models of molecules. Each lolly represented a different type of atom, and by connecting them with toothpicks, students could see how atoms join together to form molecules like water (H₂O) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). Through this fun and creative activity, students developed a deeper understanding of how matter is made up of smaller parts, and how different combinations of atoms create all the materials we see every day. They also practised key scientific skills — asking questions, making predictions, experimenting, and recording observations — just like real chemists! Our student scientists have loved exploring how chemistry connects to the real world and discovering that science can be hands-on and fun! Japanese
In Japanese, Foundation students are having lots of fun learning colours this term — with a little help from Pokémon! Students have been practising how to say and recognise colours such as aka (red), ao (blue), and kiiro (yellow) while matching and colouring their favourite Pokémon characters. Our Grade 1 and 2 students are busy learning the names of fruits in Japanese. They are practising words like ringo (apple), Ichigo (strawberry), and budou (grape). To help them practise, students are creating their very own kirigami fruit books, where they cut, fold, and decorate pages featuring different fruits labelled in Japanese. Students are really enjoying combining art and language as they practise reading, saying, and recognising fruit words in Japanese. COMMUNITY NEWS
